Kiosk Solutions
CityPlanner Touch
The journey planning system for information kiosks
CityPlanner is also available for touch-screen kiosks. The touch-screen version is based upon the proven stand-alone Windows application (browser version also available) but offers a touch-screen specific user-interface. The touch-screen application is intended for public access use, for example, at bus stops or station terminals for information kiosks or ATM-style terminals.
The kiosk application enables the travelling public to access timetable information and plan their journey using public transport, before they begin a journey. It provides multi-modal journey planning information and can be updated regularly through transport databases, using common data formats like CIF, ATCO CIF, and TransXchange.
Proven technology
CityPlanner Touch uses the successful and proven HAFAS touch-screen technology, which is currently used by Dutch Railways (NS Reizigers) and public transport operators in Germany. The Windows version of CityPlanner Touch can be customised to suit differing needs with customisation carried out on request. In the ICE-2 trains of Deutsche Bahn AG, for example, an extended bespoke version of the HAFAS system has been in use since autumn 1998.
